‘Whoops… ooommmmpppphhhh’ cried Amelia.

 

 

‘The machines are coming!’ warned Marvin.

‘I can’t move!

‘Don’t panic. I’ll help you.’ (Marvin)

 

‘Run, Amelia, run!’

 

 

‘It’s okay, they’re slowing down, but we have to tell the herd!’ said Marvin

 

(The elephant herd confronts Amelia) 

‘You almost led them right to us.’  

‘You are a liability.’

‘It’s time to grow up.’

‘No more chances.’

 

‘Your daughter was warned.’ said the Matriarch.

‘She just won’t listen.’

‘Now she’ll have to find her own way.’

 

“And so the herd moves on.”

 “But they are not alone.”

 

 

 

‘What do I do?’ cried Amelia

‘Stop pouting for one thing… and get back to work!’ said Marvin

‘We have to get you across the savanna somehow.’ 

 

 

‘I saw this thing,’ said Marvin, ‘sketching in the dust.’  

‘Like a butterfly?’ asked Amelia

 

 

‘Not exactly…  more like wings that go in a circle.’ said Marvin

 

 

‘I don’t know, this feels weird!’ (Amelia)

 

 

‘Definitely not right.’

 

 

‘If I could just get in the air…’

 

 

‘Here we go!’ (Marvin) 

 

 

‘It works!’

 

 

‘Crack!’

 

 

“While Amelia goes back to the drawing board, Marvin goes to check on her family. He floats silently above the herd, scanning. Is that something on the horizon?”

 

‘I need speed and…’ 

‘…wings?’

‘Really big wings, like Marvin’s?’
