Boots, sneakers, sandals, slides; all kinds of shoes ( & humans wearing them 🙂 ) turned out for the Global March For Elephants & Rhinos in Las Vegas this year. Some may even say that elephant shoes played a part in the trek down Las Vegas Boulevard.
For those in the know, a silent whisper of ‘elephant shoe’ is interpreted by the receiving party as ‘I Love You’.
And there was no shortage of love for our elephants (rhinos & lions) , and a passion to save them from extinction, that propelled these marchers forward as they headed southbound along Las Vegas’ famous Strip.

Why We March…. Global March for Elephants & Rhinos ( GMFER )
- To create an awareness of our elephants’ fight for survival in the wild (against poachers slaying the species for their ivory tusks and even for their skin).
- To create an awareness that our elephants will not survive this slaughter without worldwide intervention; our elephants will become extinct in our lifetime unless caring humans come forward and offer their help.
- To raise money to fund this worldwide effort to save elephants.
Until next year, America, as long as there is a need to help elephants count us in.
