This easy elephant craft idea (2) (adult supervision required) is featured on the World Elephant Day website (2) and Orsi has taken it a step farther by not only creating the piece, the African Elephant shaped wire wall art, with tusks, but including a video (3) and photographs (shown here) to illustrate the entire process.

How to Create this Wire African Elephant, With Tusks, Wall Hanging
(adult supervision required)
Materials & Tools Needed
Protective Gloves, Pliers, Wire Cutters, Spray Paint (if desired)
Tensioning Wire, Sketch of an elephant (to use as a guide/template to shape your elephant)

Step 1
Cut the tension wire (estimate the desired length)

Step 2
Begin shaping your wire African elephant using your elephant sketch template or just freehand it (start at the top forming the head)
Use pliers to help bend and shape the wire.

Step 3
This is the final step (unless you choose to paint it)
Continue shaping and bending the wire (following your elephant sketch guide or continue free-handing) until you reach your starting point.
Make sure the ends are secure by twisting the wire with your pliers.
Use pliers as well to tweak the shape until you are happy with your wire African elephant Wall Hanging!
