No matter what you call it, litter, debris, waste, garbage, refuse, rubbish, it is still engulfing our planet and endangering and killing our wildlife, especially in the form of plastic trash which is especially enticing to our elephants, unfortunately.
This year’s (2024) Earth Day message is “Planet vs Plastics”.
Plastics harm humans. Plastics harm wildlife.
What can you do to reduce or eliminate the use of plastics in your life?
Save the planet. Save our elephants.
“…Plastic pollution (is one of) the biggest challenges that humans face at the moment. Despite many initiatives by the government plastic is still piling up and the main reason for plastic pollution is that we do not care about the future generations that is ruining the present scenario, too.”
“In a bid to discourage the use of plastics and bring attention to the issue Indian Forest Service Officer Parveen Kaswan (sp?) shared a picture of a forest land filled with waste. When cities expand our dump yards also expand. (Unintelligible) forest land seems easy targets for them. This is what our plastics and other waste is doing to wildlife.”
“A marvelous creature (feeding) on human waste (unintelligible) along with the heartbreaking photograph of an elephant who is looking for food on land filled with plastic waste. Can you think of trying to find food and end up eating plastic and dying instead?”

“We are absorbing it. Eating it. And breathing it. Plastic is toxic. And now it is personal. The plastic industry knows it. They have known for decades.”
