World Wildlife Day 2021, It’s Still About Our Elephants

Dear Elephants:

Is it here already… World Wildlife Day 2021? The thing is, this day will always be about you, our elephants, the most majestic species on earth.

You make your home in a variety of habitats including deserts, swamps and the highlands but more commonly live in savannas, grasslands and even forests, which brings us to WWDs theme for 2021, Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Planet, World Wildlife Day 2021.

“Forests are our home. We share it with the most diverse and beautiful plants and animals. There are millions of us around the world calling forests home. Forests and forest species provide for us. They give us everything we need from food to fresh water and medicines. For thousands of years forests have cared for us and we have learned to care for them, too. Join us in caring for our homes and all the communities who rely on them. This World Wildlife Day let us celebrate forests, forest species and the countless human livelihoods they sustain. Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Planet, World Wildlife Day 2021.”

It is all about sharing the planet. It is all about how humans and wildlife peaceably coexist.

For there cannot be a world without elephants…
